Yang Ming Marine Transport Corporation has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with PSA International, one of the world’s leading port operators, to accelerate the adoption of low-carbon solutions across the maritime value chain. The agreement marks a significant milestone in a shared sustainability journey to deliver end-to-end supply chain decarbonization.
The MOU was signed by Mr. Ivan Chiang, Chief Logistics Officer and Senior Vice President of Yang Ming, and Mr. Eddy Ng, Group Head of Operations, Technology and Sustainability of PSA International. The ceremony took place in the presence of Mr. Kevin Lee, President of Yang Ming Marine Transport Corporation, and Mr. Ong Kim Pong, Group CEO of PSA International, underscoring the strategic weight both organizations place on the collaboration.
A Sea-Land Approach to Decarbonization
The partnership pairs Yang Ming’s maritime fuel initiatives with PSA’s electrified terminal capabilities to provide global clients with a verifiable pathway to reduce emissions across both ocean and landside operations.

Yang Ming continues to advance its core philosophy of energy conservation and emissions reduction. By the end of 2025, the company had reduced its carbon intensity by 63.32 percent compared with 2008 levels. Building on that progress, Yang Ming launched EcoSea+, a green transport service that integrates the carrier’s low-carbon navigation capabilities to help customers reduce their Scope 3 transportation emissions through a flexible and transparent strategy. The collaboration with PSA extends the reach of these efforts beyond the ocean and onto land.
As a leading global port operator, PSA is advancing its Node-to-Network strategy through integrated port and supply chain capabilities. This approach connects terminal and landside operations into a greener network designed to reduce emissions across the entire supply chain.

Beyond emissions measurement and verification, the collaboration centres on two key mechanisms: a digital Book-and-Claim framework and a joint maritime-land-based inset token package. Together, these tools give cargo stakeholders a transparent and accountable sea-land pathway to meet their decarbonisation targets.
The partnership reinforces the shared commitment of Yang Ming and PSA to maritime decarbonisation. By linking ocean and land into a single verifiable system, the two companies are not simply reducing emissions — they are shaping a more sustainable future for global trade.
