Driving the Ocean Network Express East Asia-Japan Service Revamp
Ocean Network Express (ONE) has unveiled a comprehensive update to its maritime network, significantly impacting global supply chains. Scheduled to commence in April 2026, the Ocean Network Express East Asia-Japan service revamp aims to strengthen connectivity across Japan, Northeast Asia, Southeast Asia, and the Indian subcontinent. This strategic optimization is designed to enhance service reliability, broaden port coverage, and provide shippers with highly efficient routing options.
The revised network introduces crucial adjustments across multiple shipping loops. These modifications include strategic service integrations, refined port rotations, and the introduction of new port calls to meet evolving logistics demands.
- JTI Integration: The Japan Thailand Vietnam Indian subcontinent service will consolidate the existing TIP, JT1, and JV2 services into one robust loop.
- JID Enhancements: The Japan Indonesia route will newly incorporate Shimizu and Cai Mep into its rotation, expanding critical trade corridors.
- JSM Optimization: The Japan Straits Malaysia loop will streamline its transit by removing Shimizu and Cai Mep to accelerate delivery schedules.
This restructuring is a vital component of ONE’s wider capacity optimization strategy. Other loops experiencing minor rotation adjustments include the JVH, JPH, and JK2 services, alongside the Japan Shuttle East and West routes. By consolidating routes and strategically refining port calls, ONE is positioning itself to deliver superior schedule reliability amidst fluctuating global trade conditions.
